Commitment to Portal (Mike Ross, Kurt, Dick/Dave Turner) - Along with the next CMS module budget is money to fund a Peoplesoft Portal. The Peoplesoft Portal will be implemented in March 2006.

A couple of major concerns about the Peoplesoft Portal have been its lack of flexibility in the area of portlets and its proprietary system. Peoplesoft has modified its program somewhat. Discussion ensued about Peoplesoft vs. other portals, i.e. uPortal. The Peoplesoft Portal is going to be campus supported equipment and software. Long-term costs are very expensive.

Gateway Meeting (Mike Ross & Joe Scarcella) – The new representative from Gateway met with Mike Ross and Joe Scarcella. A request was made to obtain a dozen computers, and several laptops for 1year trial basis. By the end of the month an agreement should be made. Part of the goal is to keep the competition for the campus' computer sales open.

Communication Technology Marketing and Promotion (Joe Scarcella, Owen Owens, Mike Ross) – Promoting the wireless capability of the campus and its other technological capabilities should be promoted. A meeting with the Latino Scholastic Achievement Corp is meeting with CSUSB to development the LatinoGraduate.net On-line Institute. This will increase the campus' technology capability. IRT's Technology Day will continue to be held to promote campus technology.

There is an issue about having a TAC meeting during finals week. The meeting for March 25 has been cancelled. The Committee Members are encouraged to show up next week for the Peoplesoft Portal presentation.

The next formal meeting will be Friday, April 8, 2005 at 1:00 pm.
